Coach McGlauflin Signs Two Aces to the 2018 Mystic Baseball Team

Coach Corby McGlauflin is pleased to announce the signing of two local aces to national letters of intent to play baseball for the Mystics next season.

Ian McDonald, a Century High School senior, was a ND 1st Team All State designee in 2016 and a fixture in the Bismarck Governor's starting rotation last summer. He went 6-1 in the high school season then compiled 54 innings with a 2.88 ERA in the Legion season. Coach McGlauflin added, "Left-handed pitching is an area of need for us and Ian was at the top of our recruiting board when identifying talent in the area, so we are excited to add Ian to our class."

Matt Guenther, a St. Mary's Central High School senior, had an outstanding summer for the Bismarck Reps in 2016. He only gave up 1 earned run the entire summer in 46 innings. Matt will lead the St. Mary's pitching staff this spring. "Matt is a multi-sport standout that has a great competitive drive. He had eye-popping numbers last summer and we expect Matt to do big things over the course of the next two years," stated McGlauflin.

The Mystics wrapped up the non-conference slate with a record of 12-4 and open conference play this weekend at Dawson Community College (Saturday). Double-header at Shiloh, Sunday, 1 pm/3 pm.
