Tory Nelson Signs Letter of Intent to Play Baseball for the Mystics

Coach Michael Keeran is pleased to announce the signing of Tory Nelson, Medicine Hat, Alberta, to a national letter of intent to play baseball for the Mystics. Tory hit .405 as a junior in high school with a .522 OBP and had 8 2B's & 3 3B's. As a sophomore, he hit .450 as a sophomore with .541 OBP. Nelson hit 11 2B's & 3 3B's. Nelson also had a .960 fielding %.

"Tory has a good chance to come in and win an infield spot if he continues to progress. He has been coached well by Coach Foran in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Tory has been one of the best hitters in Alberta for a couple of years even without a senior season. Hitting over .400 at any level is very difficult, but to do it for back to back seasons is really saying something about his ability and his consistency. He was the captain of his high school volleyball team too, so we know he has great leadership as well, which is extremely important" - Coach Michael Keeran
