Coach Gilliss Signs McKay and Slaughter to National Letters of Intent

Mr. Basketball finalist, Tronis McKay of Four Winds-Minnewaukan, and Austin Slaughter of Grand Forks Red River have signed national letters of intent to play basketball next season for the Mystics.

McKay, a 6' 3" guard-forward, averaged 21 ppg and 8 rpg this past season for Coach Rick Smith, while leading the Indians to the State B Championship Game for the third straight year. McKay was a two-time Class B All-State selection and was named to the Class B All-State Tournament Team the past two seasons. He was also named the Region IV Player of the Year.

Slaughter, a 6' 6" forward, averaged 25 ppg and 8 rpg per game while leading the Red River Roughriders to a fourth place State Class A Tournament finish in 2016.
