At the helm of the Bismarck State College Athletic Department is Buster Gilliss. Coach Gilliss has served as BSC's athletic director since 1999 and was coach of the Mystic men's basketball team from 1991-2008. An NJCAA Hall of Fame Coach, he has taken the reigns of the men's basketball program once again beginning with the 2016-17 season. Originally from New Rockford, North Dakota, Buster is a graduate of Jamestown College and University of North Dakota. He was assistant Region XIII men's director for ten years before becoming Region XIII men's director in 2010.
