Mystic Athletes Qualify For National Meet

The Bismarck State College track and field team is preparing for the upcoming NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, as six athletes have qualified for individual events at the championships. The competition, set to take place in Gainesville, FL on March 1-2, will see these exceptional athletes showcase their skills on a national stage.

Among the qualifiers are Nathan Mathern and Talen Farland, both set to compete in the men’s 200-meter event with impressive qualifying times of 21.56 and 21.60, respectively. Jack Koppelsloen will represent the team in the men’s 600-meter with a qualifying time of 1:21.09, while Tsitsi Karanda will take on the women’s 600-meter event with a qualifying time of 1:37.60. Morgon Brindley will race in the men’s 800-meter with a qualifying time of 1:54.99, and Alison Hoff will showcase her talent in the women’s shot put with a qualifying distance of 12.61 meters.

Koppelsloen and Brindley will also be joined by Eric Hasby and Karsten Hegney in the men’s 4x800 meter race with their qualifying time of 7:51.11, which is currently the ninth best time in the nation.
