BSC Battles NDSCS For Top Spot In The Mon-Dak

The top two teams in the Mon-Dak conference, Bismarck State College and North Dakota State College of Science, would need all five sets to determine the winner in a mid-season matchup. The Mystics would outlast the Wildcats 3-2 (25-17, 18-25, 25-27, 25-20, and 15-8) to stay undefeated in conference play.

The Mystics would come out strong, winning the first set by 8 points, and looking like they were going to take control of their home court. Refusing to just roll over, the Wildcats responded by taking the second set by 7 points. Even though the Wildcats would win the third set, the Mystics would regain the momentum, taking the fourth and fifth sets.

Breena Sand would drive the team offensively with 16 kills and 4 aces. Paige McAllister would dominate around the net, as she was involved in 7 blocks and had 9 kills.

Bismarck State College is 5-0 in conference and 10-4 overall.

Next up the Mystics travel to take on Lake Region State College, on Sept. 13.
