Kyle Kuether

Mystic alumni Kyle Kuether was named head volleyball coach at Bismarck State in spring of 2020. Kuether lead the Mystics to a 17-4 season and a region championship runner-up in his first season. The Mystics won back-to-back Mon-Dak Conference championships in 2021 and 2022, going 22-2 in conference in the two years. Kuether also led BSC to a Region XIII and Northwest Plains District championship in 2022. Kuether was named Mon-Dak Coach of the Year in 2021 and 2022. He was also named region and district Coach of the Year in 2022.

 Kuether is now entering his fourth season with the Mystics with a 75-13 overall record and 37-5 conference record. Before coaching at Bismarck State, Kuether was an assistant coach at Fargo North High School in 2009. Kuether was then assitant coach and head coach at Bismarck St. Mary’s High School from 2012-2020. Kuether also is heavily involved with the youth programs in Bismarck as the travel director for Capital Volleyball Club. 

"Bismarck State is such a great place to work and coach. The level of support and community backing is second to none. The culture of volleyball along with the supportive community and the athletes we have makes coaching so much and rewarding," Kuether said. "The lessons and values I started learning while attending BSC as a student are things I hope to pass on to our student-athletes."

Kuether graduated from BSC in 2008 and North Dakota State University in 2010 with a degree in Sports Management. He also is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Kuether and his wife, Kelli, have three kids, Harper, Lincoln and Niklynn, who love being around the gym and coming to the matches.
