BSC trio named baseball all-MonDak

BISMARCK, N.D. – Sophomore Darion Alexander and freshmen Jordan Tucker and Kyle Odenbach have been named to the all-MonDak Conference baseball team, the league announced on Wednesday.

The trio helped the Mystics go 30-9 this season and advance to the conference semifinals before having their season come to an end.

Alexander, a native of Glenwood, Minn., could play infield or outfield and pitch. On the mound, he was 3-1 with a 4.56 earned run average and 22 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched. In 37 games this season, Alexander hit .308 with two homers and 25 runs batted in. He also scored 44 runs.

Tucker, an outfielder from Detroit Lake, Minn., led the MonDak Conference in hitting with a .422 average. Tucker played in all 39 games for BSC. He had 57 hits, scored 61 runs and drove in 26 runs. Tucker had seven homers and stole 18 bases in 21 attempts. His OPS was 1.182.

Odenbach, a left-handed pitcher from Thompson, went 3-1 with one save and an earned run average of 3.77. He struck out 39 batters in 28.2 innings as a relief pitcher. Opponents hit just .211 against him.
