Bismarck State College (BSC) baseball team showcased their remarkable talent and teamwork as they swept both games of a doubleheader against North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). With stellar performances from both pitchers and hitters, BSC secured decisive victories with scores of 13-0 and 5-0.
The first game of the doubleheader was a display of BSC's offensive and defensive prowess. BSC triumphed with a commanding 13-0 win, concluding the game in just five innings due to the mercy rule. Alex Panitzke earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing only one hit without surrendering a run. Ely Nyhammer provided strong relief, pitching one inning and giving up just one hit while maintaining the shutout.
Offensively, Cooper Stahlman was a standout player, driving in four runs and hitting a home run, finishing the game 1 for 2.
In the second game, BSC continued to assert their dominance with another shutout, winning 5-0. McCoy Keller claimed the win, pitching two innings in relief without conceding a hit. Josh Bourbeau also excelled on the mound, pitching two innings, allowing no hits, and striking out five batters.
Cooper Stahlman continued his strong performance from the first game, adding three more hits to his tally for the day. Andrew Niaves played a crucial role in the victory, driving in two runs and scoring twice.
