Mystics Shine at Mike Thorson Open

The Bismarck State College Mystics men’s track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Mike Thorson Open.

In the 60-meter dash, Nathan Mathern sprinted to victory with a time of 6.82 seconds, securing 1st place for the Mystics. Right behind him, Austin Zulu demonstrated his speed by taking 2nd place, clocking in at 6.94 seconds.

The Mystics continued their winning streak in the mile event, where Djiby Diallo captured 1st place with a time of 4:44.06, leading the field with his endurance and skill.

In the men’s 800-meter race, Layton Koop showcased his skill by finishing 2nd with a time of 2:00.72. Karsten Hegney also put on a commendable performance, securing 3rd place with a time of 2:04.15.

A highlight of the event was the Mystics' dominant display in the men’s 200-meter dash, where they swept the top three positions. Austin Zulu claimed 1st place with a swift time of 21.76 seconds. Following closely, Justin Zulu took 2nd place at 22.13 seconds, and Cayden Kraft rounded out the top three with a time of 22.32 seconds.
