Mike Thorson is in his 46th year of coaching and retired in 2017 afer 24 years as the director of track and field/cross country at the University of Mary. Thorson is a four-time national collegiate coach of the year and coached over 400 All Americans and had 46 conference championships teams during his tenure at Mary. Thorson's speciality is the sprints and hurdles. He had 39 national champion athletes in his time at the University of Mary.
