Softball Team Shines After Slow Start

The Bismarck State College softball team demonstrated resilience and skill over the weekend, bouncing back from initial setbacks to finish strong. The team began the weekend with two challenging games, but their determination saw them conclude with impressive victories.

In the first matchup against Dawson Community College, BSC was defeated 2-6. Despite the loss, Brielle Wrangham showcased her batting prowess with two hits. Tayler Falcon contributed by driving in the team's only two runs. Haily Molde made a notable impact from the mound, pitching 1.2 innings and conceding just one earned run.

The second game against North Dakota State College of Science resulted in a 5-14 loss. Teegyn Anderson and Lexi Wesson both delivered solid performances with two hits each, scoring once and contributing a run each.

The tide turned in game three against Dakota College at Bottineau, with BSC securing a commanding 14-3 victory. Haily Molde earned the win, pitching 5 innings and allowing only 3 runs. Jada Walter and Brielle Wrangham each drove in three runs, while Tayler Falcon led the charge with three hits, scoring three times and driving in two. Ava Seibel also made significant contributions with two hits, scoring twice and driving in two runs.

In the final game of the weekend, BSC defeated Lake Region State College 11-2. Kathryn Sliman achieved the win, pitching 5 innings and allowing no earned runs. Jada Walter continued her offensive momentum, driving in another three runs on two hits. Grace Grimm matched this achievement with three RBIs. Savannah Gustavsson and Brielle Wrangham each scored three times, showcasing BSC’s offensive depth.

The Mystics are 4-3-1 on the season and travel to Florida for the Space Coast Games.
