Mystics Start the Season Perfect

Bismarck, N.D. – Bismarck State College’s volleyball team continued their unbeaten streak as they triumphed against the University of Jamestown JV team, concluding the Mystic Invitational with scores of 25-21, 25-12, and 25-23. Although the Jimmies made a valiant effort to end the Mystics’ unbeaten game streak, the Mystics were able to respond and secure their consecutive game streak at twelve, resulting in a record of 4-0 to begin the season.

The Mystics’ team effort was outstanding, with six players contributing a minimum of four kills each. Caton Pearcy led the Mystics with eight kills, while Staci Kempenich and Kayla Gibson provided support by contributing 16 and 11 assists, respectively, driving the offense.

"I thought the weekend went well, lots of good opportunities to grow individually and as a team. Not everything was pretty but even those moments give you experience and experience is what the team needs right now," said Head Coach Kyle Kuether.

Next up for the Mystics they will travel to face Williston State College on August 23rd, followed by a home matchup with Dickinson State JV on August 28th.
