The Bismarck State College women's cross country team delivered an impressive performance at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships, exceeding expectations and demonstrating their prowess on the national stage. Entering the meet ranked 14th in the nation, the Mystics surpassed expectations and secured a commendable 12th place finish overall. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the formidable competition, with over 40 teams and more than 300 runners participating in the event.
Leading the charge for the Mystics was Ava Stafford, who showcased her remarkable talent by finishing in 16th place with a time of 19:13.2. Her exceptional performance set the tone for the team and contributed significantly to their overall success.
Other notable performances included Paysha Rex, who finished 52nd with a time of 20:17.4, and Lindsey Schroeder, who crossed the line in 60th place at 20:28.3. Amelia Shepard also made a strong showing, finishing 139th with a time of 21:48.8. Sophia Fafard and Kaitlyn Bancroft rounded out the team's efforts, finishing 173rd and 198th with times of 22:16.1 and 22:44.9, respectively.
