Brynn Hyttinen, a freshman from Washburn, became the first Bismarck State College athlete to compete in track and field for the Mystics since 1985 when she took part in the women's heptahlon Friday at the Marauder Indoor Open at the University of Mary Fieldouse. All five events were held Friday.

In the two track events, Hytinnen posted an 11.38 in the 60-meter hurdles and a 2:34.12 in the 800. She long jumped 4.28 meters (14-0.50 feet) and high jumped 1.16 meters (3-9.50) and threw the shot put 8.25 meters (27-1).
