Mystics Open Season With Offensive Explosion

Despite softball fields across the state still having snow on them, the Bismarck State College softball team was able to start their season with a pair of games inside in Minot.

The Mystics started off their season with an offensive showcase against Dakota College at Bottineau, defeating the Jacks 17-4. Daisy Sparrow and Elin Williams would power the Mystics offense, with both driving in four runs. Sparrow went 2-3 with two home runs, while Williams went 4-4 with a double and a triple.

In the second game of the day, the Mystics would fall behind Miles Community College in the first inning and would fight back the rest of the game. Late rallies for the Mystics wouldn’t be enough as they would fall 8-11.

Jordan Marcoux reached base three times, going 2-2 with a walk, and crossed the plate three times for the Mystics.

The Mystics have a record of 1-1 overall and continue their opening weekend in Minot, facing North Dakota State College of Science and Dawson Community College on Sunday, February 11.
