Mystics and Tetons Go Into Extras Twice

Bismarck State College’s softball team had to go into extra innings not once, but twice today as they faced off against conference foe Williston State College, while on their Florida road trip. The first game of the doubleheader would go eight innings, but that wouldn’t be enough to declare a winner as the game ended in a 12-12 tie. The second game would be nearly identical except that the Mystics would score two in the top of the eighth inning and hold on to win 13-12 over the Tetons.

Offense would be the key for the day, as Daisy Sparrow and Teegyn Anderson would each collect three hits in the first game. Sparrow would drive in two runs and score once, while Anderson would connect for a home run, knocking in two runs and crossing the plate twice herself in the game.

In game two, Alexis Wesson would leave her mark for the Mystics, going four for five at the plate and would drive in two runs. Sparrow would add another two hits, driving in one and scoring once.

The Mystics complete their Florida trip going 5-2-1. They next travel to Miles Community College on March 23.
